This is a scoresheet narrative which means apologies for not mentioning those not on there.

Josh, Tyler, Marcus, ConnorD and Kenneth were the starting five and the Saints opened up the scoring with a one from two for Marcus. Tyler grabbed a basket and a free throw from ConnorD put the Saints 4-0 up before a three pulled Leeds back. A 9-0 run meant the Saints pulled away with Marcus, Marko, Josh and ConnorD getting scores. Leeds battled back again before Daniel got a one from two but an 11-0 run with Eddy, Marcus, Kenneth and ConnorD scoring pulled the game away. A trey from David at the end of Q1 saw a substantial 25-11 lead in place.

Quarter two looks a scrappy affair with only ConnorD and Kenneth getting scores in the first 5 minutes. Leeds were staging a comeback and with only Daniel and Kenneth adding more to the scores a 12-15 quarter score meant maybe the lead should have been greater at half-time?

The Saints regrouped for Q3 with ConnorD and Marko staring the scoring. Josh and Tyler added to the score via free throws, before Josh ConnorD and Marko grabbed a few baskets, with Marko getting an and one. A 5-0 surge from Kenneth saw the quarter score of 22-8 putting the game very much back in the Saints court.

Quarter four was another close call but with Daniel getting one from two and another 5 point rally from Kenneth the game seemed in the bag. Marko got a basket before ConnorD camped out at the free throw line. Towards the end of the game we saw Marcus come on the add to his tally and Matteo grab his first points for the U16s.

All in all with Leeds getting 3 players fouled off and 28 fouls the Saints with 23 fouls it showed that the game was a stop start affair with many visits to the free throw line. Although the Saints were fairly comfortable victors the views from the supporters seem to be that they could have killed the game off in a more convincing style. However a win’s a win so well done to all.
