There are some that would say that the Saints (on a high from being second in the premier North after a marvellous performance the day before) against a conference team with 6 players was a foregone conclusion. Well it was.

The main thing to report was that all 12 players were rotated throughout the game and everyone got quality court time. Also a big well done to Northants who didn’t let their heads drop in a game they must have found tiring.

Not much more to say really so here’s a walkthrough of the scoring. Yesterdays’ trey fest continued with 11 treys getting the Saints a third of their points, this is how it was played out:

Josh and Eddy were the first scorers with Eddy then getting the first trey of the game. Josh had 2 visits to the free throw line and came away with a point. David got his trademark trey before Daniel and Marko alternated two baskets each. End of quarter 22-2.

Matteo started Q2 off with a trey before ConnorD got a pair of baskets with an “and one”. Montell got his first trey. The rest of the quarter saw the scoring shared between Josh (6), George (4) and Marko (4).

Quarter 3 saw Daniel, ConnorD and Kenneth start the scoring before we got three treys in a row. These were from George and two from Matteo. Josh chipped in before Montell got his second trey and we saw Connor D and Marcus finish the quarter’s scoring off.

Quarter 4 started off with ConnorD followed by a 5 point flurry from Kenneth. Josh got a basket followed by two from Eddy. Marko got 2 from the charity line followed by a basket from Josh. Eddy got his second trey followed by a basket from Marcus. Fittingly U15 Matteo got the donut shot with his 4th trey of the game. Ton up, game over, bring on the next round.
